Step Line Chart
Description
Step Line Chart represents a set of points connected by horizontal and vertical lines only. This type of data visualization is generally used to display how a variable changes over time (Cartesian graphs) or just along the X-axis (Scatter charts).
A step-like look, inherently typical for Step Line Charts, makes this chart type a good data visualization form to emphasize the leaps in transition from one value to another as well as irregularity of changes.
Step Line Charts are the basis for such types of graph as StepLine Area Chart, Range StepLineArea Chart, and some others.
