Range Step-Area Charts are somewhat alike simple Step-Area Charts, but the difference is that our lower border is not a horizontal line but forms another stepline. The special feature common for all Range Charts is that one category has two values that form a range.
This example demonstrates ranges between min and max connection times of a server by hour during a day. It allows to watch how the connection time changes according to the hour of a day. Markers are disabled due to their uselessness and the Chart specific (it’s not expedient to highlight the points in all types of Area Charts). The horizontal axis holds the categories – daily hours, and the vertical axis holds the values in ms. When you hover a chart, you will see a tooltip that describes the point you are hovering at. Each tooltip contains the hour of the day and the extreme values of the range.
